Hi, I’m Deb! Welcome to Debs Wellness Kitchen — a place where healthy eating is about finding balance, enjoying your food, and creating habits that actually last.

For a long time, I tried to lose weight by dieting. I would start with good intentions, follow strict rules, and try to be as “good” as possible. But, like so many people, I eventually found myself going back to my old habits. The diets never really felt sustainable, and I always ended up feeling like I had to start all over again.

Eventually, I realized that I didn’t need another diet. I needed to change the way I lived.

Instead of trying to change everything overnight, I started making small, realistic changes to my everyday habits. I focused on eating more nourishing, whole foods and, most importantly, learning to genuinely enjoy them. Rather than constantly looking for healthier versions of the foods I was used to eating, I started changing my everyday choices and discovering how satisfying healthy food could actually be.

Over time, my taste and cravings changed too. I found myself naturally wanting more nourishing meals and reaching for highly processed foods less often. It wasn’t about completely giving up the foods I loved or following strict rules — it was about changing my habits slowly enough that healthier choices became a normal part of my lifestyle.

And slowly, it worked. The more I got used to nourishing, satisfying foods, the less I found myself craving highly processed and sugary foods all the time. I learned that healthy eating doesn’t have to mean eating boring food or constantly feeling like you’re missing out.

Over the course of about three years, I lost 18 kg. More importantly, I’ve been able to maintain that weight because these changes became part of my lifestyle rather than something I was doing temporarily.

My love for the science behind food

I’ve always been fascinated by how the human body works, which is one of the reasons I chose to study Biology. I have both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Biology, and my background in science has made me especially interested in the science behind nutrition, food, and overall health.

I love learning about how different foods affect our bodies, from how fiber supports a healthy gut to how protein can help with satiety and how our eating habits can influence the way we feel. I believe understanding the science behind what we eat can make it easier to make informed choices and build healthy habits that actually last.

For me, healthy eating isn’t just about calories or weight loss. It’s about understanding what we put into our bodies and finding ways to make nutritious choices enjoyable and realistic.

Why I created Debs Wellness Kitchen

I created Debs Wellness Kitchen because I know how frustrating it can feel when you’ve tried diet after diet and nothing seems to stick.

I want to show that you don’t have to follow an extreme diet or completely change your life to make progress. Small, consistent changes can make a huge difference over time.

Here you’ll find recipes that are nourishing, satisfying, and most importantly, actually enjoyable to eat. From high-protein meals and healthy snacks to comforting desserts and simple everyday recipes, my goal is to make healthy eating feel easier and more enjoyable.

I’m not here to tell you that you can never eat chocolate, pizza, or your favorite dessert again. I believe there’s room for all of those things in a balanced lifestyle.

My goal is simply to help you find an approach to food that you can enjoy not just for a few weeks or months, but for years to come.

If you’re working toward your own health and wellness goals, I hope Debs Wellness Kitchen can give you some inspiration, practical ideas, and recipes you genuinely look forward to making.

Slow and steady really can make a difference. And you don’t have to be perfect to make progress.

Welcome to my kitchen! ❤️
